New Moon

Always exciting when it appears a new moon over the MacGillycuddy Reeks in Killarney is always something special to experience. This crescent arrived in great calmness with settled weather, highlighting the magnificence of the mountains and the evening hues of nature. The capture for me was always going to be twilight, with just enough colour left in the sky to highlight the moon. If I left it to long the moon would simply contrast the darkness of night and all mystery would be lost. The real bonus was the moon rising from the west so the amazing sunset hues became the perfect back drop.
